Obituary of Margaret Manning

Obituary of Margaret Manning. Born in Bronx, New York on March 3rd, 1937. Margaret is the daughter of Dorothy Breslin Manning and Tracy Manning. Margaret attended Russel Sage College in Troy, New York where she majored in Physical Education. Margaret loved sports especially playing field hockey and softball. Margaret taught physical education in Old Lyme, CT. Margaret was lovingly known by many as Margaret, Maggie or Marge. Margaret’s family eventually moved to Essex, CT. Enjoying their summers at their beach house in Old Saybrook, CT, where many fond memories were made. Margaret and her first cousin Carol Carini spent many hours on her boat named “Miss Chiff!” Need we say more? Later in Margaret’s life she worked in the gardening industries at local nurseries. She loved plants and helping people plant their gardens. Margaret also had a great love for animals, especially cats. She has enjoyed many loved felines over the years and leaves behind “Luna” who will remain with a dear friend, Terri Martin. Terri was a loving friend of Margaret for many years. Terri was with Margaret loving her to the final hours of Margaret’s life. A visitation will be held for Margaret at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 19th, 2022 from 4-6 pm. A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 20th, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Riverside Cemetery in Old Saybrook. Donations can be made in Margaret’s name to Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter, 11 Cherry Hill Road, Branford, CT 06405, the same location where “Luna” was adopted.
