Obituary of James M. Skeffington

James Mark Skeffington, 85, of East Lyme, CT, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. Jim was born on August 5, 1937 to Mark James and Rose (Leitgeb) Skeffington in Waterbury, CT. After attending Vinal Tech High School where he studied electronics, he served with the U.S. Army Anti-Aircraft Command stationed in San Francisco. Upon discharge from the Army, he pursued his interest in electronics working for Chester Electronics Labs. He was there for nearly 20 years before going to work for Whelen Engineering. He retired from Whelen after 20 years of service. Jim is survived by his wife, Beverly (neé Gesick); his daughters, Evelyn (Michael) McKenna, Susan (James) Veillette, and Debra (Rod) Miranda; his son, James A. Skeffington; his grandchildren, Michael, Lindsay, Jessica, Melody, and Mark; and his great-grandchildren, Jacob, Zach, Hannah, Jacob R., Madison, Greyson, Lucas, Kamron, Gage, and Rick. A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Grace Episcopal Church, 336 Main Street, Old Saybrook, CT 06475.
