Obituary of Ruth Archbold

Ruth Archbold, 88, of Moodus, Connecticut, died on Monday, November 7, 2022, at Middlesex Hospital. She was born on November 18, 1933, in Washington D.C. Ruth was the daughter of Myrtle Louise and Lynn E. Norman. She proudly attended Eastern Nazarene College, working hard to put herself through school. Ruth was a gifted educator and loved teaching. Her greatest joy was her children who were the fortunate beneficiaries of an amazing amount of love. What was left, Ruth gladly shared with others, always with a kind word of encouragement, eagerly sharing God’s love. She was married to William (Bill) Archbold, her husband of 60 years, who preceded her in death in January 2021. Surviving are her two beloved children, Warren Archbold of Alexandria, VA, Leigh Ann Rankin of Centerbrook, CT and her cherished grandchild, Benjamin William Rankin. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters Doris Insley and Ann Brand and brother David Norman. Funeral Services will be held privately.
