Obituary of Marcia Ruth Grant

Marcia Ruth (Smalle) Grant, age 71, of Old Saybrook, CT passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015. Marcia was an amazing mother, sister, and friend and will be sadly missed by many. Her love for life and consideration of others made her an absolute pleasure to be around. Her energy and spirit was contagious, and she always put her all into anything she set out to do with determination, ingenuity, and impeccable attention to detail. She loved living along the shore, and found inspiration and comfort whenever near the sea. Marcia was the daughter of Edwin J. and Dorothy L. Smalle. She leaves behind her daughters Tracey Grant and Lisa McGlone, daughter-in-law Maureen McGlone, and grandsons Aidan and Teagan McGlone. She is also survived by her sisters Jude Simpson and Lauren Stephens and their families whom she was very close to. Visitation for Marcia will be on Friday, March 27th from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St. in Centerbrook. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 28th at noon at the funeral home. Interment will be at a later date in the Riverbend Cemetery in Westerly, RI. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Marcia's name to Waterford-East Lyme Animal Shelter, Town of Waterford, 41 Avery Ln., Waterford, CT 06385.
