I knew Brian from the Larchmont Yacht Club. My earliest recollection was when we were kids crewing on our parent’s sailboats. I have the most vivid memory of seeing Brian, his sister, parents and their adorable yellow lab Thor happily barking as they set sail to go sailboat racing in their 210 One Design Class.
A happier family could not have existed.
Years later, but still in our teens, Brian taught me to Scuba Dive. He was an excellent teacher and my test was to place the scuba tank, register, weight belt, flippers, snorkel and mask at the bottom of the pool then dive down to put it altogether and not surface until all the gear was on and I was breathing from the register. I got it on the first try due 100% because of him. I saw Brian infrequently through the years but always during Larchmont Race Week in July. He remained the same happy guy I’d known all my life.
