Obituary of Barbara M. Taylor

Barbara M. Taylor passed away on Sunday, April 12 at the age of 94. It was appropriate that she did so on the weekend of the Masters Golf Tournament because she loved watching the event on television and even ventured to Augusta, Ga., once to attend it in person. She was born on April 1, 1921 in Norwich, Ct., to parents Albert and Gertrude, Taylor. She worked in the X-Ray department at Windham County Memorial Hospital in Willimantic, Ct. and at a few hospitals when she lived in the Stuart, Florida area before returning to Connecticut in 2008 to be near her family. Taylor loved to travel. She drove across the United States and took a three-month cruise to the Orient, Australia and New Zealand. She also visited Costa Rica. Mrs. Taylor is survived by her younger sister Jean Colby of Westbrook, Ct., and nephews Mark Colby of Dallas, Texas and Eric Colby of Raymond, Maine. She also has two great nieces and two great nephews and is fondly remembered by many friends at Gladeview Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Old Saybrook, Ct. Graveside services will be held at Maplewood Cemetery in Norwich on Friday, April 17th at 11am.
