Obituary of Willys David DeVoll

Willys David DeVoll, Sr. of Chester, CT and Block Island, RI died on May 1, 2015, age 85. He previously lived in Kinnelon, NJ; St. Louis, MO; and then 31 yrs in Westport, CT. Will was born in Rochester, NY, graduated from Cornell University and served as 1st Lieutenant in the Korean War. He received a law degree from Samuel P Chase College of Law and had a successful career as executive VP of Human Resources for several major pharmaceutical corporations, most recently Celgene Corporation. Will was a devoted and much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Lee (Snyder) DeVoll; his children Diane DeVoll VanderMeer and husband Peter, David DeVoll; grandchildren Julie, Karen, and Brian VanderMeer, Willys and Katie DeVoll; his siblings and their families. A celebration of Will's life will be held at Chester Village West, Chester, CT from 4-5:30 pm on May 16th. A private family gathering is planned for the future.
