Obituary of Robert Schmitt

Robert Schmitt, 87, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2015. A Deep River resident for many years, he is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy (Engelman) Schmitt of Middletown. He leaves his six children, Dianna Hess Schmitt of Milltown, NJ, Richard Hess Schmitt of Purcellville, VA, Susan Tesch (Gary) of Pelham, NH, Jennifer Stone of Woodland, WA, Thomas Schmitt (Kathleen) of Webster, NY, and David Schmitt (Divinna) of Killingworth, CT. He also leaves his twin sister, Margaret Schmitt of FL, eleven beloved grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent in Bob's name to The First Congregational Church of Deep River, Box 246, Deep River, CT 06417. A service celebrating Bob's life will be held on June 27, 2015 at 11:00 AM at The First Congregational Church of Deep River, 1 Church Street in Deep River.
