Obituary of George A. Greene

George A. Greene, age 59, of Ivoryton died on Monday, June 8, 2015 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Beloved husband of Tina (Jacobson) Greene for the past 35 years. George was born in Providence, RI, son of the late Marmaduke & Hazel (Ferreira) Greene. He was educated in Seekonk, MA and for the past 5 years was the sexton at both St. John's Church and School in Old Saybrook. George was a self- taught computer expert and web site designer, an avid drag racing fan as well as a skilled woodworker, making both toys and doll houses. But the true love of George's life was his family , whether it was RV camping or boating on the RAGATA II they all meant the world to him. In addition to his wife, George is survived by his loving children; Stephenie Page and her husband PJ of Warwick, RI, Victoria Craig and her husband Gordon of Chester, CT, Jenna Roy and her husband Jeremy of Cumberland, RI, Kelsey Jacobson and Russell Jacobson both of Ivoryton. He is also survived by his brothers James Ferreira and his wife Helen of Seekonk, MA, Kenneth Greene of Del Ray Beach, FL and his Mother-in-law Audrey Jacobson of Ivoryton and 7 grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 8:30am – 10:30am at the Sheridan Center, 161 Main St. in Old Saybrook.( behind the church). George's Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. John's Church, 161 Main St. Old Saybrook at 11am. Interment will be held on Friday at Gate Of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence, RI at 11am.
