Obituary of Anne D. Hesser

Anne D. Hesser, age 94, a lifelong resident of Chester passed away peacefully at her residence in Chester surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday evening, June 17, 2015. Anne was the beloved wife of the late Paul J. Hesser who predeceased her on October 16, 1989. She was born in Chester on November 22, 1920 the daughter of Benedetto and Jennie (Benedetto) DaCundo. Anne was a member of the graduating class of 1938 at Chester High School and also graduated from the Morse Business College in Hartford. She began her career employed by The War Production Board in its Copper Division in Washington, D.C. from 1941 through 1945. In 1959 Anne began her 35 year career as the Principal's Secretary at Valley Regional High School in Deep River, a position she held until her retirement in 1995. She served the community of Chester as member of the Chester Elementary Board of Education, a member of the Chester Library Board, a member of the Board of Assessors as well as the Chester High School Alumni Committee. Anne also served as a Justice of the Peace and was a communicant at Saint Joseph Church in Chester. She leaves her daughter, Barbara H. Kish and her husband Stephen of Higganum, her son, Richard A. Hesser and his wife Sandy of Chester, her grandchildren, Ryan Kish, Jillian Zupan, Tiffany Hesser, and Robert Joshua Hesser, and her beloved great-grandchildren, Jacob and Grayson Dykas, Colby and Tulip Kish, Josephine Ann and Lavinia Hesser and Brooklyn Zupan. Besides her husband Paul, Anne was predeceased by her great-grandson, Calder Kish, her sister, Virginia Wilford and her brother, Louis DaCundo. Visitation will be held at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook on Sunday, June 21, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 22, 2015 at 9:00 AM at Saint Joseph Church, 48 Middlesex Avenue in Chester. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Anne's name to the Middlesex Hospital Hospice and Palliative Care, 28 Crescent Street, Middletown, CT 06457
