Obituary of Dorothy Stopa

Dorothy (Zaremba) Stopa, 81, a lifelong resident of Deep River passed away suddenly at home on March 27, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Stephen J. Stopa. Born in the family home in Deep River, she was the daughter of the late Joseph & Anna (Kurek) Zaremba. Dot was a graduate of Deep River High School and went on to work for many years at the former Chester Savings Bank She was a devout parishioner and choir member of St. Joseph's Church and will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Dorothy is survived by her son Daniel S. Stopa and his wife Lisa of Oakdale, her grandchildren, Isabella, Christopher, and Maksim, her brothers, Victor Zaremba of Sun City, AZ and Paul Zaremba of Deep River, her sisters, Josephine Kortitkoski of Deep River and Stella Bump of Westbrook. Dot was predeceased by her husband, her daughter Susan Stopa and siblings; John, Mary, Helen, Anthony and Joseph. Visitation will be held from 9 - 10:30AM on Saturday at the Robinson, Wright, & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street, Centerbrook. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00AM at Saint Josephs Church, 48 Middlesex Avenue, Chester. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph's Cemetery.
