Obituary of Hope A. Ruhe

Hope A. Ruhe, of Essex, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at home on June 22 due to complications of a long illness. She is survived by her husband, Charles A. Ruhe, her four children, and five grandchildren. Born September 17, 1927 Hope Dunham Anness, she grew up in East Providence, Rhode Island and graduated from Southern Connecticut State Teachers College (now Southern Connecticut State University) in 1948. She taught first grade in West Haven for several years before leaving teaching to raise her own children. With her children grown, she returned to SCSU in the early 1980s to receive her Master's degree, and afterwards worked for several years as a School Psychologist in the Madison, Connecticut, public schools. There will be no memorial service. In lieu of cards or flowers, please make a contribution in her memory to the charity of your choice.
