Richard H. Zeh, 88, of Chester, passed peacefully July 18th at the Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. He was born on November 29, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Katherine (Becker) and Herman Zeh. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Florence J. (Martineau) Zeh, brother, Walter Zeh of Thompson, and his four children and their families; daughters Jeanette Anderson of Meriden, and Virginia Zeh of New Britain, and sons, Walter N. Zeh of Madison, MS and Harold R. Zeh of Honolulu, HI. Richard spent his youth in Queens, New York City, moving permanently with his family to their summer home near Cedar Lake in Chester, when he was 17 years old. After graduating from Chester High School where he competed in track and field and won state divisional championships in the several events, he was drafted into the Army during World War II and assigned to the 4th Infantry Division of the Army Transport Company.
