Obituary of Virginia Katherine Plant

Virginia Katherine Plant, "Jini", age 73, of Old Saybrook, died peacefully at home on Friday, July 17th, 2015 with her daughter by her side. Jini was born in Montreal, Canada on March 25, 1942, daughter of the late Kenneth Charles "Casey" and Mary Katherine "Mary Kay" (Cason) Murray. She grew up in Montreal and Delray Beach, Florida and had been a resident of Old Saybrook, Connecticut for the last 30 years where she owned Saybrook Hardware, a much loved local business. Jini lived a life full of family, close friends, love, and laughter. Her kindness, generosity, dynamic presence, and marvelous sense of humor will be sorely missed. Jini is survived by her beloved daughter Jessica May and her husband Lincoln of Avon and her adored grandsons Stephen and Andrew Lawless of Avon, who always made her proud and laugh, and were truly the two great loves of her life. She is also survived by her sister Mary Lou Jamison and her husband Sandy of Simpsonville, SC. She was predeceased by her former husband Roger Patrick Plant. Her daughter would like to thank Jini's dear friend and physician Dr. Peter Pace, Dr. William Zeidler and the staff of Middlesex Hospital Home Hospice. Special thanks to Kim Carey who provided wonderful care and became a good friend. It was Jini's desire that services be privately held.
