Obituary of Holly M. Lewis

Holly M. Lewis, age 88, passed away on Monday morning, July 27, 2015 at the Shoreline Medical Center in Westbrook. Holly was born on December 20, 1926 in Old Lyme the daughter of Edmund V. and Rosetta (Swaney) Lewis. She spent her early childhood in Old Lyme and had been a resident of Deep River for over 75 years. Holly was employed for over 20 years as an Office Supervisor at the former Chesebrough-Ponds in Clinton. She was an avid gardener who maintained beautiful gardens at her home and also was a wonderful baker who loved to bake cookies of every kind and share them with her family and friends. She attended the First Congregational Church of Deep River. Holly will be remembered for lovingly babysitting her many nieces, nephews, and great- nieces and nephews. She especially enjoyed taking them on special outings picking apples and berries. Holly leaves her two sisters, Catherine P. Egan and her husband, Desmond of Clinton, and Mary C. Chalker of Port Charlotte, FL . She also leaves her sister-in-law, Joanne Pandiani of Deep River, her nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Holly was predeceased by her step-father, Charles A. Pandiani, her brother, Charles A. Pandiani, Jr., and her sister, Jeanette Handy. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the First Congregational Church of Deep River, 1 Church Street, in Deep River at 11:00AM. A committal service will be privately held by her family in the Duck River Cemetery in Old Lyme. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Holly's name to the Deep River Ambulance Association, P.O. Box 274, Deep River, CT 06417.
