Obituary of Janet Krogh Jeppesen

Janet Krogh Jeppesen was born in Hartford, CT on November 4, 1921 to Paul Froda Axel Krogh and Carrie Marie Christiansen Krogh. She resided in Hartford for most of her life. Janet "Gramma J.", our loving, family Matriarch died peacefully at her home in Clinton surrounded by her loving family on August 29, 2015. She leaves behind her brother, Paul Krogh of Old Saybrook, sister-in-law, Betty Fisher of Ludington, MI, daughter "Tulla" Joanne Leaf and her husband "Ignatz" Ted and "Kitty Pousin" Winnie of Clinton, son "Rosebud" Alan Jeppesen and his wife Laura of East Hampton. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren; "Krissy-Shell" Kristen Gagnon and her husband Andy of West Hartford, "BeccaBoo" Rebecca Sears of Sarasota, FL, "DawnieDoo" Jessica Sears-Thompson and her wife Cherie of Clinton, "Manna" Amanda Jaccheo and her husband Lucas of Brooklyn, Brittany Wilson of Portland, OR, Karilynn Buisch and her husband David of Union and Craig Jeppesen and his wife Lorilee of Willington. 6 great-grandchildren; Morgan Stinson and her husband Josh of Canton, "My Main Man" Connor Michaud, Keith Gagnon, "Seanie" Sean Gagnon all of West Hartford, Lillian and Zachary Buisch of Union. Janet also leaves her loving caregiver and newest family member Aurika Esposito of Branford. Her husband Arthur Hans Jeppesen and her sister Doris Krogh predeceased her. Janet worked at Smythe Manuf. in Bloomfield for many years. She was one of the 1st and longest attending members of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Hartford and Newington. More recently she was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hartford. Janet's Danish heritage was a huge part of who she was and she was very proud of that; from cooking, baking and stories of the "Old Country" to wonderful holiday traditions. Janet spent time every summer in Provincetown from the 1930's through this year. This yearly trek to the tip of the Cape was a tradition started by her parents. Janet enjoyed and had many interests and hobbies; she loved to watch game shows and read books, especially mysteries. She excelled at knitting and crocheting and baked countless tins full of Christmas cookies from recipes handed down from her mother. Janet touched the lives of all who met her. Gramma J. was loving, spunky, quick-witted and had a wonderful sense of humor. Gramma J. often donated to St. Jude's and she has received wonderful care from Clinton Volunteer Fire and Ambulance. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 from 10:00AM until the time of her funeral service at 11:30AM. in the chapel of the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook.
