Obituary of Steven Sheppard
Steven Sheppard died September 17th at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He left his world surrounded by love and at peace. Steve was a lucky man who never lost his wonderful smile or his outstanding sense of humor. He thoroughly enjoyed many great things in his life; countless friends and a supportive family, his time in the Army and living in Hawaii, dirt bikes and his riding buddies, a love of the woods and the water, his field, stream and trees, his fellow conductors and coworkers at Metro North Railroad, a garage full of toys…Steve was a man of enormous strength and kindness who took care of business yet loved to play. Above all he shared an abundance of fun with, and a never ending love for, his children Ozzie and Ellie. By far his greatest joy was to watch them grow and find their place in the world. He could not have been more proud of them. For more than 20 years Steve happily called Deep River his home, a home he shared with his wife Elizabeth who loved him dearly and with all her heart. He will be deeply missed and always cherished by his parents James and Ginger Sheppard of Killingworth, his big brother Jeff Sheppard of Guilford, his sisters Elaine Sheppard of Deep River and Amy Sheppard-Aronson of Clinton, his nephews Jason Sheppard of Haddam, Justin Sheppard of Oxford, Rob and James Aronson of Clinton, his niece Meegan Sheppard of Chicago, his great niece Jaidan and great nephews Nolan, Bentley and Cooper and the many spouses, aunts, uncles, cousins and others who made up his extended family. Steve was predeceased by his faithful dog Max.
