Obituary of Pietrina C. Baldi

Pietrina C. "Bea" Baldi, age 88, a longtime resident of Old Saybrook passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, October 15, 2015 at her residence with her beloved sons Frank and Paul at her side. Bea was the beloved wife of the late Frank P. Baldi who predeceased her on June 27, 1999. She was born in Pico, Italy on January 4, 1927 the daughter of Anthony and Josephine (Carnevale) Caparrelli. Bea had resided in Old Saybrook since 1958 and owned and operated the former Stitchery, a yarn and craft store located on Boston Post Road in Old Saybrook until her retirement in 1985. She was a communicant at Saint John Church in Old Saybrook, a former President of the Old Saybrook Woman's Club, a member of the Board of Directors of the former Colonial Bank and volunteered at Saint John's School when her sons were students there. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Besides her sons Frank and Paul Baldi both of Old Saybrook she leaves her three beloved grandchildren, Rachel, Gabriel and Samuel. She also leaves her sister, Mary White, brother-in-law Roy Baldi and his wife Virginia, sister-in-law Carmen Baldi all of Old Saybrook and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Thomas and John Caparrelli. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 11:00AM at Saint John Church, 161 Main Street in Old Saybrook. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Sheffield Street in Old Saybrook. Memorial contributions may be made in Bea's name to Boys Town National Headquarters, 200 Flanagan Boulevard, P.O.
