I just came across this obit. Please accept my condolences. As I remember Sis she was all the things her family remembers. I remember her from days of touring on Basically, and working in the town hall with my mother, Gladys. Please get in touch, Janet. If I come across photos I will send them. Peace of God be with you all.

"Mrs. C." was a wonderful woman--and mother to an equally wonderful daughter and college friend, Lynn. I recall many fascinating conversations with Mrs. C. in New London and Westbrook about religion and history and books in general. She was so impressively dedicated to social justice and environmental causes as well, and put her ideals into action. My condolences to the Clements family on the death of this great lady.

Lynn - I remember going to Nantucket with you, your Mom and my Mom a couple summers ago to see "Aunty Joan". I was so happy to meet your family. You are all somewhat famous in our family. I had heard about you my entire life! Your Mom was such a fireball and I'm so glad I get to spend some time with her. Her spirit was so lively and I'm sure it will continue to be even though she has now passed through the physical world.
My condolences to you and your family,
Emily Lou (daughter of Harriet Lou)

Janet, Lynn and John-
Your Mom was a dear and loyal friend to me. She was always there by my side when we served the Planning Commission and later as my Assistant Town Clerk. I could always count on Sis. We shared all kinds of experiences in the many years we worked together at Town Hall. Sis was very special and unique. I was so lucky to have her as my friend.
Sincerely and with deep sympathy

Our sincerest condolences on Sis's passing. She was certainly one of a kind who will be sadly missed. Always a pleasure to speak with, Sis always had a big smile on her face whenever I saw her. I think that's what I'll remember most about her. She's in God's care now.
