Obituary of Leonard Green
Leonard Green passed away on November 9, 2015 at age 92, of natural causes. He was a resident of Old Lyme for the past 25 years. He leaves behind his beloved wife and companion of 66 years, Marjorie Green. He also leaves behind his son Dr. Thomas L. Green, three lovely granddaughters; Tiffany, Shauna, and Kristen, two son-in-laws; Joshua McGuire and David Spaziano, and two great grandsons; Kyle, and Connor McGuire. Leonard was born in Boston in 1923. He joined the Navy to fight in World War II, for three years. He later attended Northeastern University, where he received a degree in aeronautical engineering. He worked for the Curtiss Wright Corporation in New Jersey, for many years. He notably was the first American to obtain an overseas contract with Kuwait, for which he received congratulations form Henry Kissinger. He was an avid photographer, traveler, and loved hiking the Swiss Alps, where he and his wife vacationed for over 30 years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme, located on the corner of Lyme Street and Ferry Road, on Saturday November 14th at 12:00PM.
