Obituary of Jeanne Brady Short

Jeanne Brady Short, age 94, of Naples, Florida and a former resident of Guilford and Westbrook passed away at her residence in Naples on Monday, December 7, 2015. Jeanne was the beloved wife of the late Charles Eric Short who predeceased her in 1997. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 24, 1921 the daughter of Thomas Alphonsus Brady, Jr. and Mary Willetta (Tucker) Brady. Jeanne enjoyed a long career with the Shell Oil Company in New York City before retiring to care for her ailing nephew Tommy. Jeanne was a member of the Knickerbocker Club in New York City and had been a member of several Country Clubs along the Connecticut Shoreline as well as the Country Club of Naples. She leaves her step-sons, David and Peter Short and his wife Heather, her two nephews, Nicholas A. Brady and his wife, Tammy, Christopher Brady, and her niece, Andrea Brady. Jeanne also leaves her great-nephews, Thomas Alphonsus Brady V, Nathaniel Aidan Brady, and her great-nieces, Alexis Jeanne Brady and Sofia Brady Squance. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Linda Brady. Besides her husband Charles, Jeanne was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Alphonsus Brady, III and her nephew, Thomas Alphonsus Brady, IV. Visitation will be held this evening (December 15th) from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint George Church, 33 Whitfield Street in Guilford on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in the North Guilford Cemetery.
