I am very pleased to have been a friend of Angus. We only knew each other for less than a year. I reached out to him on the advice of my pulmonary fibrosis doctor at Yale New Haven Hospital. He responded with great warmth and practical advice about the lung transplant procedure that he had successfully completed at Duke. I am grateful to have known such an outstanding person.

I look forward to seeing Uncle Jerry in the next life. Memories of him are always happy ones. One thing that I took with me was that Uncle Jerry always took time away from visiting with the adults to play with the kids.

Dear Mary and family,
I was saddened to hear of Angus' recent passing. He was an absolute gentlemen who was one of my early land planning mentors. He was bright, practical and highly respected by all of my development peers, and I hope you all take great pride that the imprint of his life's work will shine for many generations to come.

I once read the following quote which seems very appropriate today..
" Do not mourn the absence of the flame, rather celebrate how brightly it burned."
Today's celebration of the bright flame that was Angus was a touching, warm tribute to a wonderful man!

Collected moments are what make for an extraordinary life. Although I didn't get a chance to really get to know Angus, from the few times I saw your father/grandfather/husband I remember the smile that emanated from every part of his face. Light from a face that clearly had experienced many great moments. I know you will all miss him terribly and my heart goes out to every one of you. Bowing my head toward you, I wish you light and ease as this day and the days ahead unfold. Namaste, Peace and Love.

With a sad heart I learned today of the passing of Angus. It was my good fortune to work with Angus during much of his professional life in Old Saybrook and more recently to share much of his experience with a transplanted lung . And, of course, his marriages: first with Barbara and then later when she passed, he found and married Mary. He likewise was blessed to to share an upbeat and full life with Mary.
Angus to those of us who worked with him, knew him to be creative, responsive, knowledgeable, fun and a great team member.
More than all of this Angus has been my really good friend since the early 1960's. I will miss him terribly and wish him the best in his after life. My love to Mary and his big family. To his lung brother all the best in the days ahead.
Warm Regards-Curt Sykora

I have always thought of Uncle Jerry as bigger than life, and I guess he was. My first memory of him is when mom & dad and I visited him and Aunt Bobbie in Fort Wayne, that must have been around 1958. We visited a lot and I remember so many small details of each visit that it's amazing. I think that's a sign of how special those visits were. You'll be missed a lot Uncle Jerry, but we will see you again!

My condolences to all the family. I can't make it to the memorial service, but my thoughts will be with you on that day.
I remember fondly the summer I spend with Jerry, Barb, Angus, Kim and Rob. I was 16 and put to work with the surveying crew out in the field. I seem to recall being woken up every morning to the sound of recorded bagpipe music. Maybe it wasn't every morning, but even one is more than enough. :)
Another memorable moment during that visit was my discovery of antique bottles out in the woods. At the end of the summer, I took my Mom to the site and she got hooked on going out digging for and collecting bottles. I have much of that collection now, and when I see it, I'm reminded of that summer with Jerry and family.
We all have many fond memories of our time with Jerry. He was a great man and will be missed.
