Obituary of Albina H. Stopa
Albina (Bina) Hmielewski Stopa, passed on to her eternal peace on February 1, 2016.
Born March 1, 1925, she was the only daughter of Gladys (Gutowski) and Paul Hmielewski, and was pre-deceased by her three brothers, Michael, Marion, and Charles. Albina lost her loving husband Stanley in 2004 after 58 years of marriage.
She is survived by her children, Stanley Jr., who was her main caregiver, Kathleen (Bauer) and Gladys Stopa. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Monica Bauer and husband Kennedy Nichols, Michael Grisky Jr. and wife Annie Calamari, Brian Bauer and wife Katie, Mark Bauer and wife Kate, great grandchildren, Grace and Ivy Bauer, Silas Grisky, Hutchinson and Georgia Nichols, along with many nieces, nephews and two sisters in law, Phyllis Hmielewski and Alice Stopa. Her friends and family will miss her bright smile, especially when her great grandchildren visited. "Hi honey" she would say.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church in Essex and retired from Pratt Read/Sohmer & Co. in 1990. One favorite pastime was tending to her beautiful flower gardens, transplanting, and sharing cuttings and bulbs with all who loved flowers as she did. She also enjoyed bird watching while working on her jigsaw puzzles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 11:00AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 14 Prospect Street in Essex. Burial will follow in Fountain Hill Cemetery, High Street in Deep River.
