Obituary of Frances S. Pearson

Frances Elizabeth (Smith) Pearson passed peacefully in her home in Deep River at the age of 96. Frances was born in Chester on July 9, 1919, the daughter of the late Jasper and Lilliebelle Smith. She was predeceased by her husband William and siblings, Constance, Louisa, Florabelle, Jarvis and Philip. Frances is survived by her son Philip and his wife Sandy of Florida, Sharon, her daughter and devoted caregiver, of the residence; her son Bob and his wife Lois, of Virginia, and her like-a-son George and his wife Joan of Connecticut; grandchildren Donald and his wife Jennifer, Kristen, Amie and her husband Brian, William, Amy, and Kimberly Edsell and her husband Brandon; great grandchildren Arriel, Madison, Molly, Wilhelm, and Nolan; and many, many special nieces and nephews. Frances loved to sew, crochet, knit, paint and write – capturing scenes on canvas and publishing a single labor of love titled "Cuttin' Didos" a collection of ancestral stories. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the many people who helped care for Frances, including her many friends; her minister, Tim; Rob, who always lent assistance; Laurie who provided regular deliveries of treats; and the staff of Middlesex Hospital Hospice and Palliative Care Program. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Deep River Congregational Church and to The Middlesex Hospital Hospice and Palliative Care Program. The family also requests that those who knew Frances close their eyes and remember her with a smile or hearty laugh. Those that didn't know Frances, close your eyes and smile anyway, she would like that. Frances left a soft but beautiful print upon this earth. A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 14 at 11:30AM in the Fountain Hill cemetery, 57 High Street, Deep River.
