Obituary of Janet Jette

Jan Jette, 80 years old passed away on March 24, 2016. Born Janet Helen Lobdell on July 15, 1935 in Big Bend, Wisconsin. Her parents were Forrest Albert Lobdell and Helen Elizabeth Nilson. Jan had a brother Thomas F. Lobdell. She was Mom to William T. Jette of Killingworth, CT, Douglass F. Jette of Dallas, Texas and Rhonda Tyler of Old Saybrook, CT. Jan was a very special "Nana" to Heather J. Jette and Billy T. Jette of Killingworth, CT. Jan was married 43 years to William H. Jette "Papa" who passed in 2000. The most recent 8 years were spent with her loving companion Harding Reemsnyder who passed in 2015. Jan attended the University of Wisconsin and was a graduate of Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Jan's most proud career accomplishment was as a "stewardess" for United Airlines. It was at this time Papa swept her off her feet. A substitute teacher for 12 years at Haddam- Killingworth Elementary School and retired in 1997 with 22 years of service as a Social Worker for the State of Connecticut. Jan shared her voice with the Killingworth Congregational Church choir and Guilford choir. Nana will truly be missed. She was most loving, compassionate, and generous. She embodied dignity and elegance. We love you Nana. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 11:00AM at The Congregational Church in Killingworth, UCC, 273 Route 81 in Killingworth.
