Obituary of Donald Doane
Donald L. Doane, 91, of Westbrook, peacefully passed away at Middlesex Hospice in Middletown on April 5th 2016. He was born in Westbrook, May 17, 1924, the son of the late John W. and Clara (Pendelton) Doane, and resided in Westbrook with his late wife Madeleine (Schure) Doane who passed away last March. He is survived by his daughter Linda Doane Bisogno and her husband Marco of Jupiter, FL, grandchildren, Marco J.D. Bisogno and wife Elianna, of Port St. Lucie, FL, Lauren E. Bisogno of Jupiter, FL and great-grandchildren, Sterling and Isaiah Bisogno. He will also be greatly missed by his nephews, great nieces and their families. He led a full and active life where he enjoyed many years of boating. He also took up collecting and selling antique & collectible glassware with his wife until a few years ago. He enjoyed living as a snow bird in Tavares, FL where he and his wife sold their glassware at antique shows. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a long time member of the Westbrook Fire Department and retired from Pratt & Whitney. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 11AM at the Westbrook Congregational Church, 1166 Boston Post Road, Westbrook.
