Obituary of Laura L. Smith

Laura L. Smith, 80, passed away at Midstate Hospital in Meriden, CT on April 9, 2016 with her beloved family by her side. Born on February 24, 1936 in New London, CT. to Jeannette R. Bougie and Leslie J. Payne. Laura lived in Essex where she was a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows RC Church. Laura worked for 35 years for Chesebrough - Ponds and Unilever in Clinton. She retired in 1993 and moved to Tucson, AZ to care for her Mother. While in AZ Laura learned to line dance which she loved. Laura moved to the Bradley Home in Meriden in 2013 where she enjoyed music, singing, and dancing with all the entertainment. Laura had many dear friends at the Bradley Home. Nana, as her grandchildren and great-granddaughter called her is survived by her twin daughters, Rhea Bannister of Essex and Maria Northrip and partner William Hinman of Meriden. She also leaves her grandchildren, Nikki Reynolds and her husband Tim Reynolds of Essex and Jillian Northrip of Satsuma, FL, Allegra Bargnesi and Roman Rios also of Essex, and her Great-granddaughter Kinzy Reynolds of Essex. Along with singing and dancing Laura also loved going on day trips to get her nails done, have lunch and go shopping. Private services will be held by the family at a later date.
