Obituary of Richard Apgar

Richard Apgar, 73, of Deep River Passed away peacefully on April 29, 2016, after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. Richard was born in Middletown, son of the late Henry & Ruby (Caine) Apgar lifelong residents of Deep River before retiring to Hobe Sound, FL. He is survived by his daughter Denise A. Doolittle and her husband Dwight of Deep River, his son James R. Apgar and his partner Alexandra Hatch of East Haddam, his grandchildren Mollie C. & Kaitlin E. Apgar both of East Haddam and his lifelong partner and best friend Teresa A. LaMark of Deep River. Richard was blessed to have a large extended family and many close friends. The Apgar family would like to thank the staff at the Hospital for Special Care in New Britain for their compassion and extraordinary care they provided during Richard's illness. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 3rd from 5-7pm at Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St. Centerbrook. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Church in Chester on Wednesday at 11am. Interment at Fountain Hill Cemetery will be private.
