Obituary of Luella Augusta Lyman

Luella A. Lyman, 91, of Suffield CT, beloved wife of Emmett J. Lyman Jr., passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Chesterfield Healthcare in Chester CT. She was born October 10th, 1924 in West Springfield, MA to Alda (Weisner) Gould and Frank Gould Sr. She graduated from West Springfield High School. An accomplished artist she retired as President and co-owner of Elm Tex Inc., where commercial silk screens were engraved for the textile and wallpaper industries. She was an avid traveler ranging from Europe to China. She especially treasured time spent with family, including frequent trips to Alaska. She is survived by her sons; Emmett Lyman III and his wife DoraMarie of East Haddam CT, Jonathan Lyman and his wife Lesley of Juneau AK and Nathaniel Lyman and his wife Marcia of Enfield CT, her siblings Charlotte Kemp of West Springfield MA, Clyde Gould of Springfield MI, Leona Gould of Agawam MA and Glenn Gould of Sandwich MA. She also leaves six grandchildren as well as seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Siblings Frank Jr., Ralph, Eleanor, Roselyn and Cleora predeceased her.
