Obituary of Elizabeth I. Yatzook
Elizabeth I. "Betty" Yatzook, age 82, a longtime resident of Essex passed away at the Middlesex Hospital in Middletown on Thursday, July 7, 2016. Betty was the beloved wife of Alexander Yatzook. Alex predeceased her on August 10, 2004. She was born in Deep River the daughter of John and Ruth (Beebe) Kurze. Raised in Deep River she attended Pratt High School in Essex and was a member of the first graduating class of Valley Regional High School in Deep River. Following high school she worked at the Pratt-Read Company for several years. Betty loved to go to the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, was an avid New York Yankees, UConn Basketball and country music fan. She especially enjoyed the music of artist Alan Jackson. She leaves her children, Brian Isacson and his wife Suzanne of Quaker Hill, Debra Isacson, of New London, and Wendy Yatzook, of Chester, her three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She also is survived by her brother, Herbert Kurze, of Deep River, her sisters, Ruby Welsch, of Killingworth and Barbara Perrault, of Hardwick, VT. Betty was predeceased by her first husband, Carl Isacson in 1968, her brother, John R. Kurze and her sister, Lillian Blaschik. A graveside service was privately held by her family in the Fountain Hill Cemetery in Deep River. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made in Betty's name to Middlesex Hospice, 28 Crescent Street, Middletown, CT 06457.
