Anders A.W. Krall passed away in Essex, CT on Friday, August 19, 2016. Andy was born on December 20, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY to Maximilian and Emma (Larson) Krall. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Olive Imogene Rollins Krall. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his two brothers, Phillip and Frances Krall. He leaves behind his daughter Lisa Krall of Vernon, CT and son Phillip Krall of Essex CT, as well as a niece Judy Jarvinen and nephew Michael Krall. Andy served in the US Navy's submarine service in the Pacific during WWII and returned to active duty to serve on the eastern seaboard during the Korean War. He was a 1950 graduate of Bates College in Lewiston Maine and earned an MBA in marketing from the Graduate School of Business Administration at New York University. He managed research activities for Colgate-Palmolive; Erwin, Wasey, Ruthrauff and Ryan; and Warnaco. Longtime residents of Rye, NY, Andy and Genie moved to South Corinth, VT following retirement in 1995. There they enjoyed many years of rural life in their cherished old farmhouse surrounded by fields and woods where they gardened, bird watched, and enjoyed the company of beloved dogs. They also enjoyed winters in Sanibel, FL and extensive travel adventures together. In Vermont, Andy was an active member of the Bradford Men's Club and the Corinth Historical Society. Andy's sense of humor really shined when others needed cheering up. He was ready with kind words and touch when someone needed comforting. The family is grateful to the staff at One MacDonough Place in Middletown and the Essex Meadows Health Center for the kindness, love and care given to both Andy and Genie during their last years. Interment in the Fountain Hill Cemetery in Deep River will be privately held by the family.
