Obituary of Paula Albrecht

Paula Albrecht, 87, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2016 surrounded by family at her Old Saybrook home. She was born on March 2, 1929 in San Antonio, TX. Her family then moved north when she was young, making their home in Mount Pleasant, MI where they farmed and had a trucking business with their many children. She was predeceased by her parents Jose and Carmen Rodriguez, and husband Carl A. Carlson Jr. She was married to her loving husband Robert B. Albrecht, who passed away due to a long illness in 2003. They made their home in Ludington, MI, where she lived for most of her life. Surviving family members include her sister Frances McDonald, of Montague, MI, and her brothers Rudy Rodriguez of Ludington, MI and John Rodriguez of Whitehall, MI. She leaves behind her daughter Irene and son-in-law Dennis Bennett of Fairfax, VA; grandchildren Garlond L. Pratt of Burke, VA, Robert "Bobby" J. Pratt of Mt. Pleasant, MI, and Breann Bennett formerly of Mt. Pleasant, MI. She also leaves behind daughter Carole J. des Enfants of Old Saybrook, CT, former husband Thomas E. des Enfants of Punta Gorda, FL; grandchildren Denise R. Duffy of Clinton, CT, and Edward "Ted" des Enfants IV of Monroe, NY. Paula was the proud Great Grandma "Gigi" to Robbie Pratt, Tyler Pratt, Bryan & Nikki Williamson, Catie & Connor Duffy, and Teddy des Enfants V, and Luke Bennett. She will be remembered for her independent spirit, her feisty nature fierce loyalty to those she held dear. There will be a Memorial Service on October 22, 2016 at 2:00PM at St. Simon's Church, 702 E. Bryant Road, Ludington, MI, with burial following at The Lakeview Cemetery, North Shore Road, Ludington, MI. Following the burial a reception will be held in St. Simone's reception hall.
