Obituary of Elizabeth Liz Becker

Elizabeth Adams Becker (December 15, 1949 – November 28, 2016) Liz Becker of Charlestown, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at home Monday evening November 28, 2016 after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Brooklyn, New York, the eldest daughter of Lester and Sarah Adams, she was raised and lived much of her life in Deep River, Connecticut. In 1970, she married William Becker of Deep River, and after a few years, they began raising a family. She was a hard worker who cared deeply for children. She worked in the Chester (Connecticut) Elementary School for nearly a decade, and then in the Chariho (Rhode Island) Middle School for a decade and a half more, preparing and serving school lunches. In her free time she loved to read and take walks, alone or with her husband. She was predeceased by her father and mother, and by her sister, Ellen. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Bill Becker of Charlestown, Rhode Island, by her son, Karl Becker, and granddaughter Isabella, of New Britain, Connecticut, and by her son, Charles Becker of Stockbridge, Vermont. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Church in Chester, Connecticut on Friday, December 2nd at 11am.Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
