Obituary of Michael William Ackerman

Michael William Ackerman, age 69, of Deep River passed away peacefully on November 28, 2016 at Middlesex Hospital after battling a long illness. Mike was born in Middletown on November 18, 1947 the son of William J. and Theresa (Sarazin) Ackerman. He was raised in Centerbrook and later moved to Deep River where he lived for the past 40 years. Mike is survived by his wife, Susan (Ziobron) Ackerman of Deep River, his brothers, Jim of Clinton, and Tim and his wife Maryann of East Haven, many nieces and nephews, and his special canine friend, Chloe. He was employed for 20 years at Turbo Products and many years at Kellogg Marine until his retirement. A special thank-you to Ed Zaremba and Buddy Daniels for helping him as he struggled in his later years and just for being good friends. Burial will be privately held by his family in the Winthrop Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mike's name to the Deep River Ambulance Association, P.O.
