Obituary of Jacqueline Michael
MICHAEL – Jacqueline (Adler), 83, died surrounded by her family on December 20th, 2016. Beloved wife of Jack Michael (predeceased). Cherished mother of daughters Lisa and Sally and sons in law Mark and Eric. Devoted grandmother to Elia, Meira and Asher, Elana, Shira, Ezra, and Eitan and great-grandmother to Hadar. Loving sister to brothers Len and Lee and sister Eleanor (predeceased). Adored by numerous family and friends. Raised in the small town of Moodus, CT, at eighteen Jacqueline set out to make her way in the big city of Hartford. Ability and hard work culminated in her becoming personal secretary to governor Ribicoff, a high-level position for women of that time. Love and marriage brought her to Haddam when she married her beloved husband Jack Michael. Together they built a used auto parts business as well as the house where they raised their two daughters. Jacqueline's involvement with Congregation Beth Shalom Rodfe Zedek synagogue brought her great joy and fulfillment. She was a regular at the Saturday morning Holy Scrollers where Torah, coffee, and friends invigorated and sustained her. Her strong friendships with her mahjong group and high school classmates were a source of great joy. Jacqueline's ability to listen, really listen, has been her trademark. Her gift to make those around her feel special, her warmth, dignity, and remarkably positive outlook on life made Jacqueline beloved to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held today, December 22, 2016 at 1:00PM at Congregation Beth Shalom Rodfe Zedek, 55 East King's Highway, Chester, CT.
