Obituary of Charlotte Cox Westerfield
Charlotte Cox Westerfield died peacefully on January 13 on what she would have referred to as "a blue sky day." She grew up in Montclair, New Jersey, graduated from Bradford Junior College and attended Parson's School of Design in New York City. In 1950, she married her childhood sweetheart John Westerfield. After living in many different places, they settled in Avon CT with their children Jack and Liz. They spent summers and later retired to Madison, CT in a house built in 1929 by Charlotte's grandfather. Charlotte started a wildly successful needlepoint design business, which she managed for 25 years. She was known for her talent as a painter and the extraordinary way that she connected with friends and family. For most of her life she played tennis, participated in the garden club and volunteered. She leaves her son Jack Westerfield and his wife Park Westerfield of South Carolina and her daughter Liz Westerfield and her husband Scott Kinnamon of Colorado as well as her grand children. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory can be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014.
