Obituary of Allene Ely Esposti
Allene Mabel Ely Esposti, 97, of Cadillac, Michigan, and a former lifelong resident of Essex ,Connecticut passed away on February 21, 2017 at the Curry House and Hospice of Michigan in Cadillac. She was born on October 28, 1919, the daughter of Lawrence and Katherine Anna (Schweitzer) Ely Finnegan. Allene worked at the former Pratt,&Read Company in Ivoryton, manufacturers of Ivory piano keys and piano components. During World War II the company manufactured gliders and Allene was very proud of being a rivet installer and playing such an important role in the war effort. She also was employed at the former Verplex Company in Essex manufacturers of lamp shades. Allene retired after many years from The L.C. Doane Company in Centerbrook manufacturers of lighting for Naval military ships. She is survived by her great-niece Debbie Kilton, great-great niece, Shannon Ladd, a great-great great-niece, Allison Ladd and nephews Bow and Hunter Ladd, all of Manistee, and her husband's family, brother, Dino Esposti, nieces and nephew, Ann Buchi, Gina Murphy, and Lynn, Mark and Dean Esposti, all of Connecticut. She will be missed by her precious dogs, Sydney and Vanessa Kilton. She was predeceased by her late husband Lino Esposti, sister, Phyllis Sparks, brother-in-law, Joe Sparks, mother, Katherine A. Finnegan, father, Lawrence Ely, and stepfather, Bernard Finnegan. The family would like to thank the staff at Curry House and Hospice of Michigan for their loving care of Allene.
