Obituary of John Mazur

John Mazur, age 88, of Haddam passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Hartford Hospital in Hartford. John was the beloved husband of Patricia "Penny" (White) Mazur. He was born in East Haddam on September 14, 1928 the son of John and Anna (Vavrica) Mazur and lived most of his life in Haddam. He was a veteran of World War II serving his country in the United States Army. John was employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in Middletown for over 30 years as a watch engineer retiring in 1994. He was an avid gardener, and enjoyed fishing, especially catching bluefish in The Race. John also was an avid collector of arrowheads and old bottles. He was a member of Granite Lodge # 119 AF&AM in Haddam. Besides his wife Penny he leaves his step-daughter Kathleen L. Buzzell and her husband Tom of East Haddam. Funeral services will be privately held by his family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in John's name to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
