Obituary of Mary F. Stopa

Mary F. "Frannie" Stopa, 96, a lifelong resident of Deep River passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday morning March 22nd. Frannie was born in Deep River the daughter of John and Antonina (Baron) Stopa. She retired from Turbo Products in 1983 and spent her retirement working in her vegetable garden and cooking her crops. She also liked to bake goodies to share with all her neighbors. She is survived by her sister Catherine "Kay" Budney of Deep River, niece Marcia and her husband Randy Hartigan of Orlando, Fla., nephew James and his wife Betsy Budney, her great nephew Steven Budney, and great-great nephew Chase Budney, all of Deep River. She also leaves many wonderful neighbors and friends who meant the world to her. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother William and his wife Theresa (Vitali) Stopa, sisters Sophie T. and Genieva "Jean" Stopa. A graveside service will be held on Saturday April 22nd at 10:00am at the Resurrection Cemetery, Rt. 145 in Westbrook. Memorial contributions may be made to the Deep River Fire Department, 57 Union St., Deep River Ambulance Assoc., P.O Box 274, Deep River or to Saint Joseph's Church, 48 Middlesex Ave., Chester.
