Obituary of Genevieve Laskowski

Genevieve Laskowski, 92, of Chester, CT passed away on Saturday morning March 25, 2017 with her granddaughter by her side. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Gen was born on November 1, 1924 in Staten Island, NY to Vincent and Anna Miezejeski. The family moved to Deep River, CT where Gen was raised with her nine brothers Charles (Mike), Thomas, Paul, Peter, John, Edward, Vincent, Joseph and Stanley and her three sisters Lillian, Yon and Mary. She then married and resided with her beloved late husband Stanley Laskowski in the surrounding area. Gen will be dearly missed by her family, daughter Christine and her husband Brian Tisdale, daughters Paula and Victoria Laskowski, son Stanley Laskowski, Jr, granddaughter Amy Tisdale and grandson Eric and his wife Anne Tisdale. She is also survived by her sisters Lillian Pandiani, Yon Shumbo and Mary Rayner. The most simple things in life made Gen happy like taking a scenic ride out for ice cream. She loved to be surrounded by her family and dedicated her life to them. Her family always looked forward to her baking, especially her raisin babka she made during the holidays. Visitation will be held Wednesday morning March 29th at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook from 9:00AM to 10:15AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00AM at Saint Joseph's Church, 48 Middlesex Ave. in Chester. A luncheon gathering will follow at the Deep River Historical Society Carriage House, 245 Main St. in Deep River. Burial will be private.
