Obituary of Marcia Reifenheiser

Marcia Reifenheiser, age 79, of East Haddam, Connecticut passed away in her home on March 30, 2017. She was born in Flushing, New York on March 21, 1938, the daughter of the late Thomas and Anna Reifenheiser. She grew up in New Hyde Park, Long Island, New York graduating from Sewanhaka High School in 1956. A longtime resident of East Haddam, Marcia commuted between East Haddam and Brookfield CT. for years where she was the Assistant to the Secretary of Praxair, her career spanning forty-four years until retiring in 2002 from what had originally been Union Carbide. When Marcia retired she moved full-time to East Haddam to the home she and her father had built together in the early 1970s, a place she truly and dearly loved. Marcia was an active member of the East Haddam Senior Center, an avid quilter, a passionate supporter of the UConn Women's basketball team and of the Connecticut Sun. She is survived by her brother Thomas Vincent Reifenheiser Jr., his wife Marianne both of Darien Ct., her beloved nephew Tommy Reifenheiser, her nieces Katie Adams and Lizzie Reifenheiser and five great nieces and two great nephews. A memorial service will be held at St. Bridgets Church in Moodus, CT April 21 at 10:30 a.m. to be followed by a reception at the church.
