Obituary of Sheryl M. Gross
Sheryl M. Gross, known to most as Sherri, 67, of Ivoryton, CT passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017 in New Haven surrounded by family after a long illness. She was born May 4, 1950 in New Haven, CT to Robert and Virginia Ketchale. She grew up in Guilford, graduated from Guilford High School and married her husband, Brad. They settled in Ivoryton where she raised her daughter and son, which would prove to be her hardest job thanks to their ever present hijinx! Over the years, she wore many hats including, but not limited to; a small business owner, florist, and caterer. She found her passion in cooking and she did it well. The proof is in her husband's belly! She also volunteered her time in many ways over the years spending countless hours with the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Essex Ambulance Association, and Essex Fire Company . Her one downfall in life may have been the inability to say no. However, she always received so much joy in giving her time and resources to anyone in need. Sherri was also an avid animal lover and has now reunited with her "third child", Maggie, her beloved black lab. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 40 years, Bradley Gross, Sr., daughter Melissa McIntyre (Eric), son Bradley Gross Jr (Michelle), sister Virginia Stebbins (Dave), and the light of her life - her 7 grandchildren; Payton & Tanner McIntyre, Rason & Camille Cobb, Rosie, Bradley III, & Christian Gross, and the countless others who were fortunate enough to know her. Her smile touched many and will be dearly missed. Donations in Sherri's memory may be made to the Smilow Cancer Center at Yale New Haven Hospital, 20 York St, New Haven, CT 06510.
