Obituary of Edward Charles Trerice
Edward Charles Trerice died peacefully Friday (June 20) at his home in Westbrook. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years Nancy (Heidtmann) Trerice. Edward was born in Westbrook on December 28, 1922 and remained a lifelong resident. He was the son of the late Robert W. and Alice (Loveland) Trerice. He was a 1942 Graduate of Hand High School before he entered the US Army Air Force in World War II. He was deployed to Europe during the war where he proudly served in the 901st Engineers Air Force Headquarters Company. Edward was employed at Pratt Read of Ivoryton for more than 30 years. He was a former officer of the Middlesex County Fire Police, a retired member of the Westbrook Fire Department and a former Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 38. Edward was also a member of the First Congregational Church of Westbrook since 1941. He loved wood working, gardening and golf but most of all he loved his family. Edward is survived by his three children, son Gary W. Trerice of Vernon, son Russell S.Trerice and his wife Jennifer of Terryville, and daughter Lori T. Larsen and her husband Ronald of Deep River, his four grandchildren, Andrew J. Trerice of Plainville, Jenni I. Trerice of Terryville, Anne Arey and her husband Matt of New Britain and Jill A. Larsen of Deep River. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Marie W. Trerice of Wolcott, sister- in- law Joan Daniels of Chester, VT, and brother- in- law William Heidtmann of Springfield, VT. along with many nieces and nephews. Edward was predeceased by a brother, Robert J. Trerice, of Wolcott and two sisters, Grace Otrin and Ethel Erickson, both of Westbrook. Visitation will be held at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 from 10:00AM until the time of Mr. Trerice's funeral service at 11:00AM. Burial with the rendering of Full Military Honors will follow in the Winthrop Cemetery.
