Obituary of Thomas J. Darmofal
Thomas Joseph Darmofal, 65, of Las Vegas, NV passed away peacefully on July 7, 2017. Born in New Britain, February 8, 1952, he was the son of the late Helen (Dzikot) Niedzwicki and Joseph Darmofal. Tom grew up in New Britain graduating from Pulaski High School. He served his country honorably and with distinction in the U.S. Navy for seven years as a Torpedoman's Mate at Naval Submarine Base, Pearl Harbor, HI and aboard the USS Fulton in New London, CT. He later worked as a field service technician for Bell & Howell before making Las Vegas his true home. Tom loved many things among them were his grandson, Alex, music, (particularly Billy Joel and Lynyrd Skynyrd), and fishing. His family and friends loved him dearly and will miss him tremendously. Tom is survived by son Jason, daughter-in-law Vanessa, and his grandson, Alex, all of Branford, CT. He also leaves behind his sisters Josephine (Dave) Poland of Manchester and Marcia (the late Carl)Alfano of Venice, FL, his brothers Richard (Patty) of Old Saybrook and Edwin(the late Trish) of Callahan, FL, his former wife Valerie Darmofal of Waterbury, and many nieces and nephews. Tom is predeceased by his nephews Michael and Mark Darmofal. Tom will be interred at the Veterans Cemetery in Boulder City, NV. A memorial service will be held for Tom in Connecticut at a later date.
