Obituary of Josephine Czapiga Glowac
Josephine (Czapiga) Glowac, 88, a lifelong resident of Deep River passed away on Tuesday evening, July 18, 2017 at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. She was the beloved wife of the late Napoleon Stanley Glowac. He predeceased her on December 25, 1996. Josephine was born in Deep River on July 19, 1928 the daughter of Lawrence and Helen P. (Grzech) Czapiga. She had been employed at the former First National Store in Deep River. Josephine was an avid gardener, enjoyed needle-point, and loved to polka. She attended many polka events and festivals. She was a communicant of Saint Joseph Church in Chester and was a member of the Ladies Guild of the church. Josephine will always be remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia A. Jacome, of Moodus and her husband Gary, her granddaughter, Diana Dutch, of Haddam and her husband Brian, her beloved great granddaughter, Lydia and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband Josephine was predeceased by her daughter, Diane H. Glowac and her six siblings, Genevieve Cepiel, Frances Cepiel, Joseph Cepiel, Philip Cepiel, Gladys (Czapiga) Czepiel, and Walter Czapiga. Josephine's family would like to thank all of the staff of the Middlesex Hospice Care, also Ryan DeJesus of All Family Care LLC for all of their loving care of Josephine. They would also like to thank Josephine's everyday devoted friend Pat Czepiel. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 9:30AM to 10:30AM at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following the visitation at 11:00AM at Saint Joseph Church, 48 Middlesex Avenue in Chester. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Josephine's name to Saint Joseph Church, or to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492.
