Obituary of Nellie Rose Tiezzi

Nellie Rose Tiezzi, 95, of East Haddam and formerly of Chester passed away on Tuesday morning, July 25, 2017 at Chestelm Health & Rehabilitation Center in East Haddam. She was the beloved wife of the late Peter J. Tiezzi, Sr. who predeceased her in 2004. She was born in Guilford on January 19, 1922 the daughter of Fred and Mabel (Miller) Dudley. In Nellie's younger years she loved to play bingo and was always ready for a game of cards. She was a communicant at Saint Joseph's Church in Chester and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post # 9920 in Killingworth. Nellie is survived by her children, Peter J. Tiezzi, Jr. and his wife Sally of Chester, Rita Goodrich and her husband Charles of Killingworth, and Diana Tiezzi of Waterford. She also leaves her six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her husband Peter she was predeceased by her sisters, Jessie Gould, Eva Dudley and Frances Daniels, and her sister in laws, Rosalie Trabucchi and Rita Thorning. The family would like to thank the staff at Chestelm for all of the loving care they gave to Nellie. A prayer service will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 11:00AM in the chapel of the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook with burial following in Saint Joseph's Cemetery in Chester.
