Obituary of Robert James Finch

J. Robert Finch, 61, of Old Saybrook passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born on June 29, 1956 in White Plains, New York to Mary (Guinane) and George Finch. He graduated from Old Saybrook High School in 1974, and the UCONN School of Pharmacy in 1979. He worked as a pharmacist for almost 40 years and owned/operated Old Lyme Pharmacy for nearly 30 years. He was actively involved in local politics and served the Town of Old Saybrook as a selectman, on the board of finance and as a police commissioner. He enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, traveling and spending time with family and friends. He was devoted to his family, friends, customers and the community; he will be sorely missed. Bob is survived by his wife, Patricia; children: Megan, Christine, Sarah and Matthew; his siblings: Mary Beth Finch, John J. Finch, Kate Marshall and Peggy Coburn; his loyal dogs: Bella and Baby; and many extended family members and friends. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 10:00AM at Saint John Church, 161 Main Street in Old Saybrook,.
