Obituary of Jeff Jay Brenneman
Jeff Brenneman, 44, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 15, 2017. Jeff was born January 11, 1973 in Bad Axe, Michigan. He moved with his family to Connecticut in 1980 and has lived here ever since. Jeff leaves behind his parents, Jay and Mary Brenneman, his brother Doug, sister-in-law Bonnie, their daughters Reagan, Anne, and Ella, and his beloved daughter Maddison, who he cherished more than anything else in this world. Jeff is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jeff was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish. He trained his dog, Marley, to hunt with him and had many good years with his dog. Jeff loved to work outside and with his hands. Maddie always said her dad could fix anything. Early on, he was able to meld his passion for hunting in his work at Traditions. He recently graduated with high honors and received a machining certification from Asnuntuck Community College and became a member of Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Jeff was very outgoing and made friends easily. He was known to his friends and family for having a good heart, always there to help out a friend. Jeff treasured his time with Maddie. He loved to play games with her, go to the beach, and loved to cook and grill with her. In lieu of flowers, to aid in the fight against addiction, a donation to The Old Saybrook D.A.R.E. Fund, 36 Lynde St., Old Saybrook, CT 06475 in memory of Jeff Brenneman would be appreciated. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at the Robinson, Wright, and Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street, Centerbrook. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 10:00AM at Saint John's Church, 161 Main Street, Old Saybrook.
