Obituary of Dorothy Elizabeth Waker Christensen

Dorothy Elizabeth Waker Christensen, 89, formerly of Old Saybrook CT, died on July 6, 2017, of natural causes in Newport Beach CA. She was the widow of Alfred Christensen Jr. and is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Alfred Christensen III and Lani Christensen, two grandsons, Jack and Sam Christensen, her sister, Emilie Macgregor, her sister-in-law, Barbara Waker and several nieces and nephews. She was born in Flushing NY, July 13, 1927, daughter of late Hermann and Dorothy (Scriven) Waker. She was a long-time resident of Old Saybrook and a proud member of the Deep River Congregational Church. She worked for many years as an office manager at WT Grant's and Caldor's and the Borough of Fenwick where she was a fixture as the golf course and borough manager and where she retired in 1992. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 10 at 10 a.m. at the Deep River Congregational Church. Burial will be private.
