Obituary of Milton R. Larson

Milton R. Larson, age 87, a longtime resident of Deep River and the beloved husband of the late Phyllis (Bowers) Larson passed away on Thursday morning, June 26, 2014 at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. He was born in Essex on November 27, 1926 the son of Albin and Anna (Nelson) Larson. Milton was a well known marine mechanic in the Lower Connecticut River Valley having worked at several marinas in Essex and Old Saybrook. He retired from the Brewer Pilots Point Marina in Westbrook. Milton was an avid fisherman and had a life long passion for the water. He will be remembered as a kind, loving, gentle and caring person, and one who was always there for others in need. He is survived by his daughters, Sheila Biruk, and her husband John of Halcottsville, New York, Christine Dupre, of Old Saybrook, Kathleen Fremut of Deep River, and his son, Robert M. Larson, also of Deep River. Milton also leaves his 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Besides his wife Phyllis, he was also predeceased by his first wife, Carol (Brooks) Larson and his siblings, Hilma Berggren, Harold Larson, Margaret Hull, Edith Johnson and Elizabeth Cerruti. Visitation will be held at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 1:00PM in the Centerbrook Cemetery, Westbrook Road in Centerbrook.
